**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to our Human Resources Lead, the HR Business Partner will provide timely, accurate, and practical support and guidance in relation to all HR matters to relevant work areas and as required other areas of the business. This role is required to work closely and collaboratively with other members of the HR team in order to achieve the key requirements for the business.

This position will undertake a broad range of HR generalist responsibilities including driving and delivering on recruitment needs and outcomes and supporting the development and delivery of effective human resources frameworks, policies, procedures, and services that align to Umwelt’s objectives and strategic initiatives. A key to the success of this position is providing quality, responsive, and professional customer focused HR support to the leadership team and team members.

Some key duties for this position include:

- Developing, driving, and delivering on key HR strategic initiatives and projects to achieve people-related organisational goals
- Supporting the provision of advice, coaching, and guidance to leadership teams and other stakeholders in relation to all HR related matters
- Undertaking and managing all end-to-end recruitment related tasks and processes, driving, and delivering on key recruitment needs identified by the business
- Owning all relevant on/off boarding processes, including but not limited to updating registers, presenting HR inductions, writing relevant offers and position descriptions, and seeking delegated approvals
- Delivering on key programs relating employee engagement, reward, diversity and inclusion, leadership development, and talent management
- Supporting managers in setting priorities, driving key values, and delivering business results
- Supporting others within the HR team
- Maintaining and tracking all relevant HR data and records
- Guiding and supporting leaders and team members through the performance review process and systems
- Undertaking relevant performance management processes in line with legislation and best practice
- Ensuring training and development outcomes achieved
- Effectively interpreting industrial instruments as and when required
- Providing support to the Human Resources Lead to assist in building and implementing a variety of human resource services, corporate and strategic initiatives, policies, and projects
- Note: This role can be based out of either our Newcastle (Teralba) office or Sydney (North Sydney) office._

**About you**:
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic HR Business Partner who has:

- Demonstrated HR generalist experience with strong business partnering skills
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management, Organisational Psychology, Business Management, Law, or similar discipline
- A sound understanding and knowledge of relevant employee relations legislation, awards, and contemporary workplace issues
- A strong people focus with the ability to balance competing priorities and develop and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels
- Knowledge of and experience using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
- Ability to drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment, with strong issues identification skills, as well as organisational and analytical skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail with the ability to work effectively under pressure without compromising on quality
- Ability to contribute to proactive development and further enhancement of systems, processes, and deliverables within Umwelt
- A high level of motivation and self-direction, as well as professional integrity
- An understanding and/or experience in the environmental and social consulting industry (desirable)
- Current driver’s licence
- Flexibility to travel (including interstate and intrastate)
