The role encompasses daily monitoring of Front Office short-term and long-term trading activity, operating daily Middle Office ("MO") controls, analyzing daily P&L and Position results, and working with the various teams across Front, Middle, and Back Office to develop further the control environment in which the Front Office operates. Responsible for running the day-to-day BAU MO activities and supporting the development of the MO function through ongoing project work. The role reports to the Market Risk Analyst. The role will be required work constructively and collaboratively with all stakeholders, particularly relevant to the role being stakeholders across the Front, Middle, and Back Office. **Responsibility** - Daily operating of the SEAu MO end-of-day process including - running key controls, - analyzing P&L and Position results to understand and explain the drivers and accuracy of day-on-day movements - liaising with the Front Office to fix issues as they arise - monitoring daily trades are within limits and validating against trade documents, - Working with the various stakeholders across the Front, Middle, and Back Offices to maintain a robust control environment in which the Front Office can operate - Maintain documentation covering procedures, valuation and risk methodologies, and the control framework - ETRM maintenance including the creation of new curves, pipeline locations, legal entities, portfolios, business units, and party agreements, and updating system configuration - Performing monthly reconciliations (Endur to Accounting) with the Back Office team for both actuals (invoicing) and accrual processes - New Deal review in accordance with the MO New Deal Checklist - Contributing to MO development initiatives including establishing a performance reporting framework, establishing a position reporting framework, testing as part of the Endur upgrade project, implementing the use of 5-year forecast data in Endur, and implementing QGC power in Endur - Contributing to the continuous improvement of daily MO processes and activity **Knowledge** - Depth of knowledge and experience in a Trading environment (preferably in Power and Gas trading) - Depth of knowledge and experience in Risk - Depth of knowledge and experience in valuation techniques - Applies strategic and lateral thought to deliver business performance - Clear verbal and written communication, consultative in approach, and maintains open and positive dialogue in engaging others - Commodity Trading experience and knowledge of markets **Skills** - Skilled at establishing and maintaining working relationships across multiple teams and fields - Good analytical skills - Good attention to detail including high standards for data integrity, reconciliation work, and control implementation - Strong excel skills - Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and processes **Attributes** - Flexible adapts to situations and achieves goals - Self-aware, understanding of own strengths and development needs - Resilient with the capacity to remain confident and optimistic in the face of obstacles, changing situations - Drive - focused and relentless in the pursuit of goals **Other Information** - Monday to Friday - 8 am to 5 pm - 12 months contract - Work location Brisbane city
