An excellent opportunity has become available for a highly motivated and passionate IT Technical Expert for Linux and VMware technologies in the Telstra Defence Operations, TACINT Team.
**The opportunity**
This role is based in **Canberra**. This is an office-based role.
The TACINT Team supports both the production and pre-production environments for the Defence Tactical Networks. In this role your primary focus would be on the operations of the production environment, you will also be working with the engineering teams to document and build new functionality.
In this role your focus will be on Linux Administration. You will also get the opportunity to work on a varied number of technologies:
- VMWare Virtualisation
- Cisco Networking
- Storage
- Backup systems
**Your key responsibilities and major tasks include, but are not limited to**:
- You will be responsible for all facets of managing TACINT platforms.
- Restoring elements to working order
- Proactively looking for potential issues
- Managing changes within the environment
- Maintaining the TACINT Baseline
- Looking for opportunities to improve the TACINT platforms
- Working with engineering teams to design and document functionality
