Your key focus will be to assess motor vehicle damage using your trade experience to ensure that motor vehicle repairs are conducted in an appropriate manner, and the repair costs are fair and reasonable.

As a Motor Assessor, you'll be responsible for assessing and adjusting claims for vehicles. You’ll manage your own case load from start to finish, assessing the damage, quantifying loss, initiating repairs and replacement, and working with customers on negotiating settlements whilst providing an exceptional level of customer care.

Relationship building with key stakeholders is critical, along with having knowledge of vehicle construction and repair methods.

**Comprehensive training will be provided for successful applicants. Please note this will include an initial 6 weeks on-site training with 6 months additional training supported by the Technical Workplace Coach.**

Once the above induction has been completed, the role will move to a hybrid working model with a mixture of on-road and desktop/digital assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess motor vehicle claims, inspect damage, and use your trade experience and training to determine fair and reasonable repair costs and ensure the correct method of repair and settlement is established.
- Provide an extremely high level of customer service. Relationship building and people interaction are a large part of this role.
- Complete vehicle quality inspections and other tasks associated with motor vehicle assessing.
- You must be a team player and willing to learn and work collaboratively both in office and out in the field.
- Problem solve issues between IAG and our customers and repairers to establish fair and reasonable outcomes.

**ABOUT YOU**
- All applicants MUST possess relevant Australian motor vehicle trade qualification (minimum Cert 3 in Panel Beating or Spray Painting or Mechanic). **Please ensure a copy is attached when applying.**:

- 5 years experience in the field of your trade.
- Demonstrate strong technical experience in the motor vehicle repair industry.
- Must have full Australian driver’s license.
- Excellent customer focus, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to perform collectively with peers in a team environment.
- Have strong fraud detection, decision making and conflict management skills.

Previous quoting or assessing experience within the smash repair industry would be an advantage but not essential.
