Maintenance Planner and Scheduler

The purpose of the Maintenance Scheduler is:
- The development of weekly maintenance plans, using the 52-week planning horizon
- Scheduling all planned maintenance activities (including all statutory inspections and operational equipment inspections/ cleaning)
- Meeting time requirements of the business and our customers
- Ensuring all necessary resources (people and equipment) are available and allocated appropriately
- Sustainably improve the operational performance of our rail department
- Monitor and track the schedule compliance, and ensure any incomplete work is rescheduled into the production plan
**Your contribution**:
Though your scheduling and planning abilities, you will be creating an efficient manufacturing environment where our operators and leaders can meet their business and product requirements.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Liaising with our machine operators and maintenance team leaders to create, plan and implement weekly plans, procurement of equipment (ie mobile cranes, EWP’s), and job timings
- Developing and maintaining an effective maintenance schedule for all preventative maintenance and shutdowns, whilst minimising production downtime and optimising maintenance schedules
- Reporting on key work management KPI’s, such as CMMS backlog and schedule compliance
- Ensuring all scheduled maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies
- Managing maintenance records, including work orders, equipment history, and maintenance logs
- Analysing maintenance data to identify trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintenance: Bar Mill cranes and crane runways, including statutory inspections, condition monitoring and repairs
To be successful in this role you will ideally possess:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy industry manufacturing
- Contract Management
- Negotiation and persuading skills
- Demonstrated problem solving ability and excellent communication skills
- The ability to manage a varied workload and work unsupervised
- A proactive approach to work and all related tasks
- Mechanical background
- Strong commitment to safety
