**The Company**:
Our client is an award-winning and highly established volume home building company and due to continued growth are looking to hire an experienced Production Drafting Manager to join their senior management team in Melbourne's busy South-Eastern suburbs.

**Purpose of the role**:
The Production Drafting Manager is the central representative for all outputs produced by the Production drafting team, providing transparent insight into the operational efficiencies and continual improvement requirements needed by the Production drafting team. The key objectives are to ensure the completeness and accuracy of drafting files reach construction in a timely manner as per company requirements outlined in the key responsibilities below.

**Key Responsibilities of the Role**:

- Ensuring the accuracy of all drafting documents that are produced by your department, ensuring the output is a true representation of client requirements and ultimately all construction requirements.
- Ensuring that business deadlines are met at all times so as to continue an unimpeded transfer of information through the company’s pre-site departments, ultimately leading to a high level of customer service.
- Working collaboratively with the team and other departments. Ensure you are effectively communicating across departments to ensure client expectations are met.
- Supporting continuous improvement by troubleshooting any issues related to design or detailing across your team, reporting any prevailing issues to the Operations Manager.
- Consult with engineers, designers, and other experts to achieve each project objective.
- Ensuring you are the central source of technical drafting knowledge by remaining up to date with the latest regulations and build specifications.
- Providing a central resource of consistent contact for the company’s out-sourced Production Drafting resources.
- Ensuring that all your team’s documents are recorded efficiently and accurately for future reference purposes.
- Formulating production schedule timelines, ensuring each team member is well aware of the workflow contents and associated requirements.
- Overseeing the prioritisation of error and omission escalations, so as to minimise delays and achieve production drafting targets within set time frames.
- Ensuring Master Plans are amended as permanent design changes arise. Ensuring all updates to production plans are reflected in a timely fashion as each design variation arises for each project.

**Role Requirements**:

- Prior experience in a Drafting Management position for a volume/custom home building company would be highly regarded and advantageous
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Production Draftsperson within the home building industry
- Proven experience using AutoCAD
- Experience working for a volume builder
- Understanding of RESCODE, MCP & Developer Guidelines
- A strong understanding of the residential home building and construction process
- Intermediate MS Office skills
