The ambition for our Food & Drink experience is to create and deliver world innovation; pioneering new platforms that support and build AO & Summer Series Food & Drink into a standalone destination that consumers seek, outside of tennis. We are now looking for a Commercial Catering Manager to join our Commercial team and help deliver on this ambition.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Product Growth & Innovation, in this role you will be responsible for managing and governing key caterer and industry stakeholder relationships and contract deliverables, facilitating concept, menu development and pricing negotiations for the Australian Open and associated lead in events.

Working closely with the Food and Drinks Programming Manager, you will be pivotal in helping plan and implement new premium experiences (both on and off-site) and retail dining and bar offerings that will highlight Food & Drink as a key pillar of the Australian Open, as well ensuring the team delivers on Tennis Australia commercial and customer experience objectives.
- In this role you will:_
- Manage the catering partnership/s, financial modelling, commercial terms and contractual negotiations with in-house caterer
- Manage catering and vendor partnerships, financial modelling, commercial terms and contractual negotiations for retail precinct food and other off-site products
- Support creation and development of new Premium Experience Dining, Precinct and Retail food and drink products that builds a global reputation for food and drink experiences
- Work closely with the Product Content Lead to ensure accurate representation of the product (F&B format, menus, pricing, inclusions etc) across all internal and external stakeholder platforms
- Create commercial profitability and margin accretive products, retail & experiences
- Provide leadership and development for a high performing team;

About you
- What you will bring to the role:_
- Significant experience working in catering with major events and/or hospitality sector at hospitality management level
- Exceptional knowledge of global and local food and beverage industry marketplace and industry and consumer food and drink trends
- Experience and knowledge of F&B operations including restaurant service & bar operations
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and empower teams to deliver continuous improvement of food and drink product experiences
- Strong negotiation skills and contractual management experience
- Proven experience at successfully managing P&Ls to drive profit growth
- Excellent communication & presentation skills with experience compelling stakeholders around a vision
- You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
