**About the Role**

The purpose of the role is to oversee the setup, implementation, and efficient running of the Seafood Post Harvest facility in Milingimbi.

Support the up-skilling of local staff into operational roles, supporting their training and development.

**This position is based in Milingimbi, a remote community in Arnhem Land, Northern Territory**

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage the purchase and processing operations of the fisheries.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding and training of several part time staff into fisheries roles
- Liaise with retail and wholesale customers regarding their required demand for specific catch.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with various local, territory and federal compliance requirements.
- Be a champion of the ALPA values and demonstrate a commitment to work health and safety.
- Experience in seafood processing operations
- Sound people management skills in a high-pressure environment
- Intermediate MS Office skills.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication skills that can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all education levels, language abilities, and ethnic origin.
- The capacity to link daily activities to the ALPA values and mission.

**Desirable**:

- Experience living and working in remote communities.
