The opportunity
Other responsibilities include:
- Deliver regular exercising to assess the effectiveness of processes and plans, and communicate results and improvements to stakeholders and relevant governance forums
- Manage and report IT DR tests and drive continuous improvement through Plan, Do, Check, Act
- Provide support for the major incident process, directing as required the technical response in a recovery invocation, and ensure the support staff and vendors are focused on the appropriate sequence and priority actions
- Act as the first line of support and DR authority on behalf of the region; leading the recovery plan in the event of invocation and collaborate with
- Manage relationship with BIA business contacts/leads. Educate and support contacts with all DR related matters and point of contact during testing or actual disaster scenarios
- Collaborate with BCP teams and business contacts as required. Develop and negotiate on business criticality requests versus infrastructure capability and provisions
Your story so far
You will have strong working knowledge and experience in Disaster Recovery best practices and models.
Excellent understanding of storage-based replication recovery technologies and experience in overseeing all aspects of Disaster Recovery projects. You are a self-starter, a forward thinker, able to drive multiple projects establishing collaborative working relationships across multiple stakeholders.
You will have:
- 5 years of experience as a DR Manager / ITSC Manager, and the most recent role managing DR in a regulated industry
- Good experience with VM recovery tools, backup/archiving techniques, high availability, and physical server recovery.
- Demonstrable experience in working directly with multi-vendors, offshore suppliers, business owners and IT teams and in driving these to meet stated objectives.
- Ability to communicate replication, high availability, Database, and infrastructure recovery technologies to non-technical audience with clarity and precision
