**The role
As part of our Merchant group, you’ll be working closely with cross-functional teams, and utilise your full range of product design, interaction design, and visual design skills, and you will own the design across key parts of our customer journey.

This exciting role will work across our Merchant experiences, including our Merchant apps and checkout. You’ll be expected to have an eye towards the future and one foot in the present to deliver world class designs and innovate upon existing products seamlessly.

Like the rest of Zip, this area is exceptionally fast-paced, but understands the importance of slowing down to better understand our customers, their drivers and how we can build them the best Zip experiences.

**You'll also**:

- Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into products useful and valuable for our millions of users
- Use design thinking to explore the problem and come to high-quality solutions
- Design flows and experiences that are simple, elegant, and delightful
- Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the product team
- Give and solicit feedback from other designers to continually raise our bar for quality
- Partner with PMs, engineers and researchers to oversee the user experience of a product, from conception to launch
- Demonstrated experience with end-to-end product design
- Contribute to the growth of our design system

**To help us level up, you'll bring**:

- 3+ years working in interaction, product, or communication design
- Have a portfolio of interaction, UX and visual design work that demonstrates your ability to solve customer problems and drive strong business outcomes
- A curiosity for uncovering the true “why” of a problem
- Ability to turn insights into thoughtful narratives
- Proven track record for close team collaboration and influencing outcomes with a well-informed direction
- Experience running lightweight, lean design experiments
- Experience with design research
- Experience working with and contributing to large-scale design systems
- Experience designing for diverse groups of people, including those with accessibility needs
- Ability to prioritise competing priorities in fast-paced environment

**More information**

The role will require frequent collaboration with product, engineering, brand, marketing, commercial, risk, data and UX Research. We have multiple designers on the Merchant group who work independently or together, depending on the problem space.
