Disability Support Worker

_We are on the hunt for a Male Support Worker to provide Community Access to a really lovely older gentleman who lives on Mount Tamborine._
- This Participant lives at home with his also lovely wife who assists him with the day to day navigation of life. Even though he is tackling with latter stage Parkinson’s, he is still able to get out and about with the aid of his wheelchair and mobility aids._
- This NRL supporter (of course, the Broncos) loves the quiet life and loves routine. He attends Probus Groups (think a Men’s Shed type gathering) every month which he will need assistance in getting to every month - hence the need for a male Support Worker with a driver’s license, a well maintained car and full comprehensive insurance._
- This particular role is as a back up to the Participant’s regular support worker with his regular hours being 12pm - 4pm Thursdays._
- This role would ideally suit someone who is a calm, down to earth person who doesn’t mind a chat and who is happy to lend a hand when required at these times. While shifts are not able to be guaranteed due to Participant choice, we know our Participant would appreciate the help._

- To deliver high quality support to our Clients in the capacity they require, the exact way they would like it delivered
- Communicate effectively and collaborate for our Clients needs with our Clients, team & Support Specialist
- Understand, follow instructions, and be responsive to our Clients needs
- Provide support to our Clients as required
- Have good rapport building skills and a gentle, encouraging manner
- Be reliable and flexible to fill shifts when required
- Have an interest in building a respectful relationship with our Clients
- To support our Clients to achieve their NDIS Goals
- **To be successful you must**:_

- Have evidence of eligibility and right to work in Australia
- Hold or be willing to obtain NDIS worker screening or yellow card
- Hold or be willing to obtain a blue card
- Hold Certificate III in disability or related fields (preferred)
- Experience in bowel care/therapy (required)

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $34.45 - $60.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Public holidays
- Weekend availability

Supplementary Pay:

- Penalty rates

**Experience**:

- bowel therapy: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)
