ICON Agency is seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic PR Account Manager with 3-4 years of experience to join our dynamic Communications team.
**This is a full-time role, based in Sydney NSW with a salary range on offer of $75k - $85k + Superannuation.**
The Account Manager will play a vital role in managing the day-to-day client relationship and ensuring the successful delivery of work across earned media and our integrated communications clients. A keen eye for detail, demonstrated PR account management experience (either in-house or in a communications agency), and a genuine passion for news are a must.
With corporate and consumer clients like Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), MyFitnessPal, and Schneider Electric as well as major government programs and purpose-driven work, this is a great opportunity for an established PR Account Manager ready to take the next step in their career, with a supportive, close-knit, national team.
**About the role**
As a PR Account Manager, you will:
- Manage the day-to-day responsibilities of client relationships across several flagship accounts, with the support of an Account Director (or otherwise equivalent), and 1-2 direct reports
- Be the day-to-day client lead responsible for overall program delivery and earned led accounts, including proactively driving media pitching, identifying opportunities for executive thought leadership and taking a no-stops approach to generating PR.
- Ensure work meets the client’s objectives
- Lead in the development and execution of PR campaigns, including drafting and reviewing media releases, backgrounders, and other materials
- Support in organic and new business opportunities, such as conducting research and analysing results for potential PR responses in collaboration with agency Directors
- Have an established black book of media contacts and a passion for generating quality editorial outcomes
- Ensure high-quality work that meets or exceeds client expectations, demonstrating attention to detail and a commitment to excellence
- Maintain excellent internal relationships across the agency, collaborating effectively with team members across different departments
- In addition to traditional PR, experience across influencers, content, or social is not a must, but would be highly regarded.
**About you**
The ideal person will have:
- 3-4 years of relevant experience in an agency or in-house PR or communications role/s, with demonstrated expertise in earned media, integrated communications or publicity
- A Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations or Communications, or a relevant certification in a related field such as marketing
- Experience supporting media relations and developing media pitching strategies, as well as experience in managing client relationships
- Experience with reporting and measurement for both traditional media and integrated communications
- A passion for the press office newsroom, including newsjacking, executive profiling and day-to-day account management
- An understanding of the media landscape
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A proactive and collaborative approach
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills.
