Job Summary: The wait staff plays a vital role in ensuring a positive dining experience for customers. They are responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, a friendly and attentive demeanour, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Greeting and Seating Customers: Welcome guests, escort them to their tables, and provide menus.

Taking Orders: Accurately record customers' food and beverage orders, paying attention to any special requests or dietary restrictions.

Food and Beverage Service: Deliver orders to customers in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and presentation. Serve beverages and refill glasses as needed.

Menu Knowledge: Possess a comprehensive understanding of the menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and special dietary considerations, to provide informed recommendations to customers.

Upselling and Promotion: Actively promote daily specials, upsell additional menu items, and offer dessert or beverage suggestions.

Customer Assistance: Provide prompt and courteous customer service, answer questions about menu items, and address any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.

Cash Handling: Handle cash transactions, process payments, and manage accurate cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems.

Table Maintenance: Clear and reset tables efficiently, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for the next customers.

Collaboration: Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, host/hostess, and other team members to ensure smooth operations and excellent service.

Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, including tables, chairs, and service stations. Follow proper sanitation procedures and adhere to health and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with colleagues
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
- Good problem-solving and multitasking abilities
- Basic math skills for order taking and bill calculations
- Knowledge of food and beverage service procedures and etiquette
- Familiarity with cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: From $29.00 per hour
