You will be joining a fast-growing and fast-paced Australian CRO involved in pioneering clinical research with facilities in the USA and Australia. This company works on a variety of highly interesting and cutting edge FIH trials and has a global client base of biotechnology and pharmaceutical. They are a driven, successful, dynamic, and constantly growing contract research organisation.
**Your new role**
Due to growth plans within the Australian market, there exists an exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate Director of Clinical Operations to join their growing team in Brisbane. You will be responsible for clinical operations activities of the facility to support the successful management and smooth execution of clinical trials across all in-site clinical trial units, including the direct oversight of different departments, from the Clinical Unit to the Laboratory department.
Location: Brisbane. On site position.
Key duties:
- Line management and operational support to department managers in terms of training, supervision and performance management.
- Leading the key process improvement within Clinical Operations, meeting clients’ expectations while maintaining a cost-efficient operation.
- Have an understanding of the operational/logístical requirements of all clinical trials conducted.
- Improving quality outcomes in a way that impacts staff, participants and clients.
- Providing support to the Project Management department by sharing input on operational and logístical activities, among others.
- Stakeholders’ management (clients, staff, vendors, contractors, facility management providers).
- Leading key process improvements and the implementation of new ideas.
- Collaborating with the Quality and HR departments in learning & development, coaching and career development activities.
- Guarantee a smooth operation of the facility by ensuring the availability of appropriate resources within the Clinical Operations departments.
- Oversight of feasibility and scheduling of projects timelines.
- Collaborating with senior management staff on day-to-day matters.
- Attending regular multi-departmental meetings to identify operational problems and develop solutions.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Strong experience in leadership and people management in clinical trials.
- Experience conducting early phase clinical trials is preferable.
- Strong experience leading, motivating and developing interdisciplinary clinical research teams to deliver complex research projects involving multiple stakeholders in changing environments.
- Previous experience working as part of a leadership team, contributing to strategic planning, providing advice, and implementing initiatives to deliver on organisational objectives.
- Capacity to executive administrative responsibilities.
- In depth knowledge of, and skill in applying, applicable clinical research regulatory requirements, i.e., Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH) guidelines
- Excellent communication, negotiation and team-work skills.
- Leads by example, with the ability to provide honest and constructive feedback.
