**TECHNICAL TRAINER AND ASSESSOR - RPL Specialist Tomago**
**About the role**
In support of our continued growth & industry support, we are seeking a Mobile Plant Trainer and Assessor to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. In this role you will be primarily responsible for the Trade upgrade program and specifically the RPL process.
At WesTrac Institute we are striving to be the leading training centre of excellence for mobile equipment. Just 30 minutes from Newcastle, our state-of-the-art Institute in Tomago is a Registered Training Organisation which provides nationally accredited training through the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
**Key Responsibilities**
- Primary responsibility is to take ownership of the RPL assessment strategy
- Casual Teaching of Mobile Plant units as required to cover leave and absence
- Continuous improvement of RPL systems and processes
- RPL assessments and delivery of accredited Gap training & Assessment to strict conditions and guidelines
- Delivering to AQF requirements and workplace safety standards
- Educating a broad range of employees and external customers
- Delegating work to the supporting RPL assessors
- Travel across NSW to interview and assess learners for RPL suitability

**Skills & Experience**
- Qualifications and/or experience in Mobile Plant Technology and/or Heavy Commercial Vehicle
- 5 Years post trade experience
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)
- Preferred but not essential and at least 12 months experience in a training and assessor role
- Excellent organisational & delivery skills, with the ability to plan, manage
- Excellent communication skills - interpersonal, written and verbal with the ability to influence and inspire groups of people with a passion for transferring knowledge and skills
- Previous heavy machinery experience or exposure to Caterpillar products is desirable
- Intermediate computer literacy skills
- A demonstrated commitment to safety and the environment
Desirable
- Knowledge and use of Cat systems, ET, SIS
- Extensive knowledge and experience with RPL process and standards.
You will possess a professional and proactive approach to your work. As a strong communicator and influencer you will have the ability to work effectively with all levels of the business and will be adept in ensuring customer satisfaction during the learning experience.
