We are looking for employees willing to work with us for 25 to 35 hours per week Casual at the moment and when the person proves themselves we will be willing to sign as permanent.

A Deli Clerk is a professional and smiley person who assists shoppers at the deli counter by recommending foods, providing samples of cold meats and cheeses, cutting them with precision tools and weighing packages for sale.

**Deli Clerk responsibilities & skills include**:
We are looking for a Deli Clerk to join our team and assist customers looking for items sold at our deli and sandwich counter. This position will work directly with the Deli Manager and other employees to complete tasks throughout their shift. Excellent customer service, communication, and math skills to process customer orders. Ability to comprehend and follow all company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.

A Deli Clerk’s responsibilities include cleaning and preparing workstations, answering questions from customers about products they sell in the grocery section and helping customers check out as needed. Assist customers in choosing menu items and answer their questions about food and beverages.

Ultimately, you will serve customers promptly and accurately, ensure food quality and safety and help support the deli at large. Also, serving coffee to customers and preparing and making sandwiches. Inspects and reassembles equipment sanitized the previous night. Rework the display case and rotate the products. A courteous and efficient approach to handling customer requests, questions, and complaints. Update displays, cases, and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased. Ensure work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing trash and confirming that tools are in working order. Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies.

Serving coffee to customers and preparing and making sandwiches. Manage stocks of ingredients while maintaining customer service standards. Cooperate with others to ensure customer satisfaction. Providing exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, providing samples, and responding to requests. Recommending, slicing, weighing, packaging, and pricing cold meats and cheeses. Preparing special orders and party trays

Food preparation, sandwich making, serving and general cleaning including dishes, slicing machines, coffee gear, and service set.

Hygiene is essential to food service, so a significant responsibility is cleaning and tidying. This means cleaning the sandwich assembly stations and every surface the sandwich maker comes into contact with at work. This includes wiping surfaces, sweeping, and mopping floors, cleaning glass, and sanitizing food storage and preparation machines.

Ability to work under pressure, manage competing demands and respond effectively to challenges.

Takes trays of packaged cold meat from the fridge, wheeled racks and placed individual packages into wrapping machines. Follows safety and security procedures.

Sets labels according to product type and price, prints and applies labels to product.

Puts wrapped and labelled cold meat on trays, wheeled carts, and stocks in display cases by reaching through sliding windows or moving the rack to the floor.

Operating packing machines and loading them with packing materials as required.

Retrieving requested goods from storage. Preparing and packing the products to get them ready for delivery. Labelling packages, and making special note of fragile or perishable items. Counting and correctly recording all packed items. Keep tracking of monitoring inventory levels. Positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Exceptional attention to detail.

An understanding of and a deep-set love for customer experience. Monitor customer satisfaction and promptly address any issues or concerns. Assist in packaging and organizing takeaway orders, ensuring they are complete and ready for pickup. Expertly prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso-based drinks, pour-over coffee, and cold brews, ensuring consistency and adherence to cafe standards. Grind coffee beans to the appropriate consistency for each brewing method. Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of coffee equipment, including regular cleaning, descaling, and equipment maintenance tasks.

**Utilize the point-of-sale (POS) system to input orders accurately and process payments.**
