**About the role**

We are currently seeking an experienced Underground Trades Assistant to work on the Jemena network based at our Tullamarine depot. The role will require travel to north-western suburbs of Melbourne, and you will be working a 9 day a fortnight.

**Key Responsibilities include**

The primary purpose of this role is to undertake underground cable installations, this consists of but not limited to:

- Assisting cable jointers
- Excavations for underground and overhead crews
- Minor ancillary works as required
- Study and interpret technical drawings, network line diagrams & maps
- Undertake maintenance inspections in accordance with Client / Company Policies, Quality Systems and HSE procedures as well as statutory requirements

**About You**

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of underground cabling installation.
- Drivers licence (HR Class desirable)
- Cert III Cable Installation
- Backhoe and / or Excavator licence (desirable)
- High Risk Work Licence - Forklift, Crane
- Basic Computer Literacy
- Demonstrated ability to recognise and solve problems in the workplace / proven ability to work productively as part of a team in a fast paced and changing workplace
