**About the facility**
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a specialised area of medicine that cares for patients with life-threatening or potentially life-threatening conditions. It is designed to treat and provide patient-centred care for people who are critically ill or at risk of developing a serious complication and/or recovering from major surgery.
**About the role**
The ICU receptionist is the initial point of contact for all visitors to ICU, and also provides reception and clerical support to the unit.
The successful applicant will be a welcoming face to ICU for families and visitors, while liaising with nursing and medical staff.
The successful applicant will have:
- Proficient skills in Microsoft office products
- Ability to assist in the planning and development and implementation of systems to ensure the effective and efficient running of the unit and its activities
- Ability to liaise with all levels of hospital management, staff and external authorities and possess the ability to refer, advise, and assist with routine issues, problems and requests
