Your role at St John of God Geelong Hospital
The Receptionist is responsible for providing high standard support and assistance to patients, visitors and caregivers and directing queries accordingly.
The Position:
Participate in handover between shifts.
Coordinate telephone calls and messages promptly and professionally.
Maintain patient records ensuring accuracy and currency of details, including new born babies.
Assist patients, visitors and general public with enquiries and directions.
Receive and create pre-admission forms, checking health insurance details and notifying patient of any extra charges they may incur.
Admit new admissions for the day.
Maintain security of keys and key register.
Distribute and coordinate ingoing and ongoing mail and faxes.
Photocopying and other duties as required.
Coordinate with the Manager, HIS or Hospital Coordinator of any problems encountered whilst of duty.
Maintains cordial relations with patients, family, all ancillary staff and other members of the department.
Work with Doctors and Nurses, providing assistance with any admin task they may need.
Assist with money handling tasks (banking) and medical billing.
You will have excellent communication skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise a busy and varied workload.
To succeed you will have a knowledge of medical terminology and experience in the health industry.

We can offer you
Salary: $60,173 to $61,903 (pro rata for part time), plus 12% superannuation
12-month fixed term part time position working 37.5 hours per fortnight
