Design Manager

**About the role**

The Discipline Manager - ITS is responsible for working with the Head of Engineering - Technology to manage the risk, quality and progress of engineering projects within the Engineering function of UGL to organisational standards, and ensures projects are completed on time, on budget, to quality standards, and within agreed scope.
- Review and oversee product development outputs to ensure compliance with the product requirements;
- Ensure that management systems are followed for compliance by the engineering and product teams;
- Deliver projects and programmes based on agreed priorities for the engineering business, IT Systems and service requirements for UGL delivery projects, recommend appropriate solutions working with internal SMEs and prepare specifications required for those solutions.
- Monitor and control timeliness of outputs for all product development activities and liaise with management to ensure product requirements are satisfied;
**About You**
- Tertiary degree qualification to Bachelor status in Engineering (or equivalent industry experience in the absence of a degree);
- 10 years+ experience in gained in the rail, automotive, military, Defence, avionics or any other safety critical environment;
- Must have an Australian Drivers Licence
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks and simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
