We have an opportunity for the Asset Maintenance Coordinator - Plant & Resurfacing on a permanent full-time basis located in **Toowoomba**.
**Your opportunity**
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager Mechanised Services, you will be responsible for effectively leading and coordinating the allocation and deployment of resources to deliver operational and capital works packages.
You will lead multi-disciplinary teams to achieve a highly engaged and productive workforce, ensuring the safe and reliable provision of customer-centric asset services. This will form part of an integrated planning team, responsible for ensuring all assets are maintained to a fit for purpose state through the implementation of safe, reliable and affordable rail based solutions.
This position will be based in Toowoomba and will support Plant Maintenance and Resurfacing teams in Toowoomba, Maryborough, Roma and Barcaldine depots.
**About the role**:
- Manage installation, maintenance and renewal activities within acceptable risk level and meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
- Coordinate and direct work teams and contractors to achieve desired business outcomes while achieving safety, environmental and customer performance targets.
- Provide effective and efficient coordination of required resources to meet defined work schedules to support the achievement of asset availability and condition targets.
- Provide expert operational advice to the Asset Managers for the strategic development of asset management plans, corridor plans, schedules and project submissions including feedback on asset reliability and opportunities for improvement.
- Coach and manage staff training, development, performance, succession planning and recruitment in accordance with standards, specifications, procedures and legislative requirements to ensure the labour resource is suitably skilled to effectively and efficiently deliver asset management services to meet customer expectations.
- Achieve financial targets through effective management of costs for labour, inventory, consumables, plant, equipment and other assets which deliver the right service at agreed cost.
**About you**:
- Highly organised and resilient individual with experience leading a team
- Extensive knowledge of resurfacing, re-sleepering and earthmoving equipment maintenance standards, systems and processes including the operation of resurfacing, re-sleepering, earthmoving and other plant production equipment.
- Extensive knowledge and high level of skills in delivering the best practice of maintenance services for the assets.
- High level of skill in providing leadership and strategic direction in the management as well as financial management skills to enable achievement of the financial performance of the area
- High level of skill in the coordination and deployment of resources alongside with communication, people management, influencing and negotiation skills.
