About the role:
Our Electrification & Innovation (E&I) business helps Australians transition to cleaner energy by developing sustainable electrification products. We focus on enhancing value and investing in innovative concepts that can transform lifestyles.

The Commercial Analyst supports commercial modelling, conducts due diligence for acquisitions, and drafts business cases for investment decisions. Collaborating with the Commercialisation and Data Lead, this role ensures the commercial viability of E&I’s products.

Part of the Commercial & Data Enabling Function, the position provides essential analysis to support AGL’s goals.

What you’ll be doing:
- Create data-driven business cases for products at different innovation stages, ensuring consistent quality and style.- Develop financial models to evaluate the viability of new products, including revenue projections and cost-benefit analyses, while performing sensitivity analyses.- Conduct comprehensive due diligence for potential acquisitions, including financial, market, and risk assessments, in collaboration with legal and operational teams.- Analyse competitors' products, pricing, and market positioning to identify opportunities and threats.- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure support for commercialization efforts.- Work closely with teams across marketing, sales, and product development to align efforts.

About you:
- Previous demonstrated experience in commercial analysis, business modelling and/or market research, preferably in innovation-driven environments.- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with a strong command of Excel, or other relevant software.- Experience in conducting due diligence for acquisitions, with experience in the decarbonisation sector - desirable.- A proactive and solution-driven mindset, with a passion for contributing to the success of commercialisation initiatives through data-driven insight.- Experience in Agile methodologies and tools.- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
