We are looking for a Materials planner, who is keen to be part of this multinational organisation where your skills and calibre will be intensified.

The position is required to perform a wide variety of functions associated with the planning and procurement of inventory utilizing multiple business tools, systems and processes to ensure inventory arrives on time to meet the business expectations.

**Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Perform purchasing/importing functions such as the issuance of purchase orders on vendors and associated companies. Handle all relevant correspondence.
- Determines the most economical material source and shipping method.
- Arranges all necessary shipping documentation and expedites purchase orders where necessary.
- Schedule, reschedule or cancel purchase orders as usage warrants, to maintain optimum stock levels to meet business requirements and to maximize inventory turnover.
- Review all shipping documentation required to ensure that it complies with purchase orders as well as work closely with logistic providers to ensure optimum transit times of inventory.
- Monitor and identify component shortages
- Follow-up of purchase orders to ensure shipments meet planned requirements. This may include direct contact by phone to accommodate regional time zone differences.
- Assist in developing inventory levels by providing analytical analysis.
- Coordinate the issuing of purchase orders for indent products to ensure product availability to meet customer requirements in accordance with customer purchase orders while avoiding premium freight requirements.
- Improve business processes and implement initiatives to drive operational improvements, optimize inventory levels and deliver cost reduction.
- Work closely with the Logistics providers and 3PL Warehouse and participate in the warehouse stocktake process.
- Be able to collaborate and work with cross-functional teams to ensure positive outcomes for the business and customers.

**Background & Skills**:

- Minimum 5 years in Material Planning and Procurement
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional team members.
- Desire to perform data analysis to identify issues and opportunities for process improvements.
- Exposure to MFG-Pro or SAP would be an advantage
- Sound verbal and written communication
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
- Represent the Company in a professional, helpful, courteous manner, always displaying a “Can Do” attitude, to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Flexible and the ability to deal with change.
- Able to work under pressure with a positive attitude.
