**Essential duties and responsibilities**:

- Perform all preventative maintenance functions in line with the engineering plan;
- Assemble and install new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic/pneumatic power systems;
- Respond to breakdowns on the floor in a timely and efficient manner;
- Troubleshoot faults and analyse equipment failures to recommend solutions to minimise downtime;
- Communicate with production personnel to ensure expectations are being met;
- Utilise MEX for accurate and thorough record keeping and ordering as required;
- Maintain the work areas in a clean and tidy condition, removing rubbish and storing equipment and tools as required;
- Support Engineering Technicians Manager or 2IC;
- Relieve the Engineering Technicians Manager or 2IC as and when required;
- Provide assistance to staff in other areas in case of emergencies, breakdown, etc.; and
- Any other tasks as directed by the Engineering Technicians Manager or the Grading Floor Manager.

**Qualifications and experience required**:

- Strong technical understanding of mechanical engineering principles and maintenance, with relevant tertiary education and/or experience;
- Minimum 3 years mechanical engineering experience;
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is not essential, but would be highly regarded;
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment;
- Ability to work cooperatively with workers of all levels and abilities;
- Strong communication skills, ability to write reports and correspondence, ability to speak clearly and effectively with internal and external contacts;
- Strong emphasis on accuracy to ensure a consistently high quality of work;
**Base salary range**: $62,000.00 - $72,000.00 + superannuation

You may be required to work reasonable overtime to meet operational demands. You will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and a pre-employment functional capacity evaluation.

You must not have any birds, pigs or poultry at your place of residence.
