**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Looking for an experienced Group General Manager (preferably with cafe franchise experience) to potentially move into a COO or CEO role of our start-up cafe chain. In the past two months, we have established two more locations, and six additional franchisees have already joined up. For the next 12 months, we plan to open one venue a month, if we can manage operationally.

The Group General Manager will have worked in a similar role, and enjoys working with a dynamic business within a small team environment. The Group General Manager will oversee the vision, strategy, and operational plan for Grow Cafe Co.'s continuous success and expansion while reporting to the Board. This will include delivery of the agreed strategic goals, people, customer and business performance objectives.

**Key selection criteria includes**:

- Proven track record as a General Manager, or experience managing teams and departments across multiple locations for at least two years.
- Exhibits a desire to take on new projects and a general outlook that no task is too small, too difficult, or too imperfect to be improved.
- Demonstrated ability to develop key performance goals, implement and execute a growth strategy in managing the performance of staff.
- Strong ethical principles and a client-centered mindset
- Proven people leadership abilities, including the capacity to successfully manage a team and foster a culture of teamwork and high performance.
- Outstanding business and financial expertise
- Previous performance in generating great customer engagement along with prior experience optimizing retail/operational footprints and systems
- Exposure to merchandising, multi-channel sales and e-commerce would be considered advantageous
- Ability to build strong relationships with senior management and owners, and with each employee.
- Excellent understanding of business and finance, as well as strong people leadership and risk management skills.

**GROUP GENERAL MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Group General Manager **is a generalist who is familiar with all areas of the business and can coordinate processes and operations across the organization. A Group General Manager usually must speak the languages of finance and accounting, operations, sales, marketing, human resources, research and development, and engineering. Under this key accountability are the following activities:

- Manages the overall strategy, intent, and vision of the whole Human Resource function, including compensation, recruitment, learning and development, culture, performance evaluation, and succession planning. Ensure that all onboarding, employee induction, training, and employee end-to-end experiences are at their best by working closely with Human Resource and Management.
- Offers mentoring as the program's main component for management career development. Develops and implements plans in conjunction with the Management Team for the operational infrastructure of personnel, systems, and processes that will support our organization's goals for rapid expansion.
- Work closely with the Leadership Team on planned initiatives, including the planning and launching of additional venues, making sure that all ongoing operational requirements are satisfied.
- Collaborates to create and/or enhance systems, processes, checks, and procedures that increase the firm's overall effectiveness and guarantee exceptional client service.
- Assist in company development, project management, and long-term planning and business strategies as a critical member of the Senior Management Team.
- Collaboration is required to create new products and manage the operational requirements for their introduction to markets.
- Looks for ways to raise productivity, efficiency, and quality; lower expenses; boost revenue; or enhance control measures.
- Ensure strict compliance to all rules, SOPs, and applicable laws, including RSA, OH&S, WorkSafe, and Food Safety.
- Develops the team through coaching and development to make sure they meet important business metrics.
- Ensure that all departments and areas consistently conform to and uphold Quality Assurance Requirements.
- Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the company.
- Work independently while making sure CEO requirements are met and surpassed.
- Represents the company in interactions with customers, investors, and partners.
- Manage all maintenance for the entire company.
