**About the position**
The Senior Access Clinician will work closely with the Clinical Lead to ensure an integrated and multidisciplinary service is delivered of the highest possible standard aligned to the headspace Model Integrity Framework and other evidence based clinical guidelines.
This role will support clinical oversight and practice guidance for the headspace Intake & Access team, supported by the broader Clinical and Operations Managers.
The role will assist in the intake and allocation of new referrals, clinical review, clinical governance and quality assurance processes within supervision and contribute to the development and maintenance of community partnerships and local referral pathways.
The Senior Access Clinician will hold a case load with a focus on biopsychosocial & risk assessment, provide evidence based mental health and psychosocial interventions, coordinate multidisciplinary care and safety planning. The role will facilitate co-delivery of social or therapeutic groups, community awareness & education activities and outreach services alongside other workers.
The Senior Access Clinician will be supported to act as a point of clinical escalation and secondary consultation, provide coaching, clinical support and practice development to a small team of early in career access clinicians, graduates and/or students, ensuring young people and their families receive timely, responsive and appropriate services to meet their presenting and emerging needs.
**Some of your key responsibilities will be**:
- Provide support, guidance and direction to staff for clinical escalations within the headspace Program, including triaging cases to the Clinical Lead as necessary.
- Provide mentorship to other clinicians and students regarding appropriate biopsychosocial assessment, formulation, risk assessment, evidence-based interventions and care pathways for young people.
- Lead and supervise student placements and early career graduates within the program.
- Ensuring appropriate triaging and monitoring of young people coming through the intake process, via phone, face to face and young people and/or families who ‘drop in’
- Deliver appropriate evidence-based interventions, in line with individualised treatment plans and the headspace model, in centre, online or outreach setting (e.g. schools)
- Maintain professional relationships with tertiary mental health services and other relevant service providers to support seamless service delivery and transition of client care.
