The Venue

Zoobibi is a unique concept space located in Hawthorn East, Melbourne. The venue was designed by award winning interior design agency 'The Stella collectives' and is inspired by the Moorish Mediterranean. The space is like no other - a multi-sensory space that is part retail, part café and part event space.

The Role

This role is the dream gig for a seasoned hospitality professional who is looking to take the next step in their hospitality career. An experienced Hospitality Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Hospitality business - Café.

At Zoobibi, our goal is to give customers one-of-a-kind, unforgettable moments in their daily routine. As soon as customers step inside, we're all about making them feel good - with our top-notch service, festive music, and our extraordinary atmosphere and cuisine.

We're seeking the next amazing leader who's got at least 2 years of strong management skills, a bit of specialty coffee know-how, a drive to motivate and guide a team (not just boss them around), and a genuine love for delivering excellent service to our awesome customers

An amazing Venue Manager knows how to keep daily operations running smoothly, drive profits and achieve goals, and create an atmosphere that brings in loyal customers again and again

- Be the ultimate role model for our team and show off your pro industry skills in a friendly, genuine way
- Ensure the daily service is run to a high standard consistently and efficiently
- Possess sound knowledge of coffee, cocktails/bar and food operations
- Manage stock control and inventory, staffing and wage costs (prepare rosters, assign specific duties)
- Identify and determine areas for cost reduction and improvement
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Manage staff performance, provide constructive feedback as required, identify weaknesses, and provide training as appropriate
- Encourage a supportive, positive, and fun workplace for all employees
- Inspire team members with a lead-by-example approach with a positive and energetic attitude
- Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of both Food Safety and OH&S requirements
- Develop new and exciting beverage offerings
- Work collaboratively with other personnel within the business and assist in recruitment for new front-of-house employees
- Serve alcohol (RSA required)
