About the role
This is a full time cafe manager position. This role includes a mix of responsibilities including but not limited to, managing a large team of staff, rostering, working closely with the owner, hosting and managing, general floor management, plus much more across a 5-6 day working week.
We are looking for an organised General Manager to handle the operations, maintenance, and team for our venue. In this role, you will be required to create venue pricing packages, secure bookings, meet KPI's, liaise with clients, and coordinate the logistics of the cafe operation. You will also be required to manage the maintenance of the venue & will be required to handle staffing arrangements outside of hours to ensure the cafe isn't left short staffed.
To be a successful venue manager, you should demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities and strong leadership skills. Ultimately, high end venue managers are able to anticipate all logistics and requirements for day to day operations and show exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills and ensure the venue generates profit.
Cafe Manager Responsibilities:
- Managing all maintenance and repairs of the venue, property, equipment, and facilities
- Ensuring that the venue and facilities are clean and organised
- Negotiating with suppliers
- Supervising all staff including, staff and maintenance personal
- Promoting the venue through a variety of marketing channels such as social media
- Supervising the day to day operations and tending to any incidents or queries
- Managing all administrative tasks such as insurance, booking schedules, and accounts
- Communicating and enforcing all security regulations and protocols
- Staff rostering
- Team building
- Reports and meeting KPI's
- Menu Development
- Stock Control
Cafe Manager Requirements:
- High school diploma
- A minimum of 3 years experience as a venue or event manager required
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations
- Excellent promotional ability and knowledge of marketing channels and techniques
- Sound knowledge of safety measures and risk management strategies
- Great interpersonal and communication abilities
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
- Strong negotiation skills and leadership abilities
- Willingness to work long hours and on weekends and holidays
- Experience across a range of POS and Eft systems
