We are currently seeking to fulfil a new role at Sands a Yard Team Leader for both an AM and PM shift. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the primary purpose of the role is to assist in maintaining the yard with in a tidy and organised state, managing return freight accounting for trailers being unloaded and their paperwork, pallet returns & documentation and pallet de-hires. You must have a passion for safety, customer service and satisfaction.

**Key Responsibilities Include**:

- Coordinate and supervise yard activities to ensure the yard flows is well organised and is operating efficiently.
- Ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
- Supervision and assistance with inbound drivers and their return freight unloads.
- Help assist yard delivery activities to ensure prompt processing and unloading of incoming freight for our services.
- Inspecting all trailing equipment in the yard and verify the reporting of any damages or faulty equipment.
- Maintaining good housekeeping standards with regards keeping the yard clean and free of rubbish/debris.
- Assist with traffic management during peak volume periods in the yard.
- Working closely with transport team to schedule return freight unloads and then corresponding load outs
- Schedule and manage return freight to customers, i.e. pallets, milk crates, veggie crates, kegs, IBC’s.
- Responsible and accountable for ensuring a safe working environment and reporting and investigating, safety incidents or concerns.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant OH&S requirements.
- Conforming to quality systems and procedures.
- Foster a strong team culture.

**To be considered you will need**:

- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role?
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
- Forklift licence
- Transport yard experience
- Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written?
- Excellent time management and organisational skills?
- HR Licence advantageous
