We have an exciting opportunity to join Council's Community Development team, fostering connected, thriving and healthy communities in Hobsons Bay.

**About the role**

Working directly with the local community sector, groups and representatives, this position uses strengths-based community development principles to design, implement and evaluate programs, initiatives and strategies in response to Council priorities and emerging needs.

Priority areas can vary depending on Council strategic priorities and community need, and may include areas such as community connectedness, social justice, and social determinants of health, place-based or neighbourhood development, and prioritised areas of intervention such as homelessness and food security.

**About you**:
You will bring:

- Degree or diploma level qualifications in community development, health promotion, social sciences, or other relevant disciplines with some relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience
- Highly developed skills and experience in whole of population and targeted program planning and project management
- Demonstrated understanding of social and economic justice and the social determinants of health and wellbeing and how they intersect within a local government and community development context.
- Experience in productive partnership development and relationship management.
