**About Vanguard**
More than 45 years ago, John C. Bogle had a vision to start an investment company that did things differently. A company with no external shareholders. Where all the profits were invested back into the business and used to lower costs. Evidently, it was as bold as it was brilliant. To this day, Vanguard Group still has no external shareholders. That means no share prices to protect, and no profits to generate for outside owners.
Today, Vanguard is one of the world's largest investment management companies, serving more than 50 million investors worldwide. For more than 25 years Vanguard Australia has been supporting individual investors, financial advisers, and superannuation members to achieve their long-term financial goals.
**Team & Opportunity**
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work with senior business partners to articulate Vanguard's views and positions and relay this to Vanguard clients.
Vanguard has incredible people and an inspiring mission: To take a stand for all investors, to treat them fairly, and to give them the best chance for investment success. If you are interested in making a positive impact on the outcomes of investors across the globe and have a passion for economics, data, research, and working in teams, this is a great opportunity for you.

- Maintains the economics-related infrastructure of chart packs, tables, and models, to provide ongoing monitoring of the economic environment.
- Stay abreast of economic and policy developments, to continuously provide timely in-house views, and improve analytical models and forecasts.
- Directly supports the development and provides direction to other economists and analysts, within and beyond own team.
- Participates in cross-team debates and collaborations on Vanguard's investment methodology. Develops recommendations on new research topics or methodology issues.
- Participates in client, public relations, or other external-facing activities as assigned.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance team research capabilities, such as new data sources or analytic techniques.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
- Five years related work experience, including four years of professional experience in economic research or a related field, with a strong focus on the APAC region. Econometrics, top financial institute, central bank, or international organization research experience preferred.
- Undergraduate degree in finance or economics or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in econometric software (e.g., R, Stata, EViews).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex economic concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven experience managing relationships with business stakeholders preferred. Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with business stakeholders within and outside one's own team, including setting priorities, project milestones and timelines, and make timely adjustments in an evolving environment.
- Experience collaborating in an international team environment desired.
- Intellectual curiosity and a passion for generating and pursuing "big ideas" for "aha" insights through research.
- Team-first orientation and openness to learning new ideas, skills, and ways of working with a diverse set of teammates.
**Inclusion Statement**
Vanguard's continued commitment to diversity and inclusion is firmly rooted in our culture. Every decision we make to best serve our clients, crew (internally employees are referred to as crew), and communities is guided by one simple statement: "Do the right thing."
We believe that a critical aspect of doing the right thing requires building diverse, inclusive, and highly effective teams of individuals who are as unique as the clients they serve. We empower our crew to contribute their distinct strengths to achieving Vanguard's core purpose through our values.
When all crew members feel valued and included, our ability to collaborate and innovate is amplified, and we are united in delivering on Vanguard's core purpose.
