**Our team**

The Information and Records Management Team Leader is a key member of the Governance team in the Enabling Services Branch of Corporate Division. Together, we are responsible for governance, risk management (including compliance), corporate performance, planning and reporting and the Secretariat function. Information and Records Management plays an important role across governance and risk management and works closely with a number of stakeholders responsible for Geoscience Australia’s scientific information, products and physical collections.

**The role**

The Information and Records Management Team Leader is responsible for leadership of a small team to deliver better practice administration, management, advice and training in keeping with Building Trust in the Public Record.

In this role you will:

- Develop and provide advice and training to uplift capability in information and records management consistent with whole of government better practice
- Effectively supervise and contribute to the daily tasks and responsibilities of the Information and Records Management Team.
- Coordinate compliance monitoring and reporting as required (e.g. Check-up Digital, Senate Standing Order 12 - Harradine).
- Provide end-user support to records management users.
- Oversee and continue development of Geoscience Australia’s targeted sentencing plan for physical records.
- Identify and monitor information and records management risks and formulate strategies and plans to mitigate them.

**To be successful in the role you will have**:

- Strong communication skills, the ability to target advice and training to a range of end-users and a strong customer service focus.
- Supervisory experience within a small team.
- Strategic understanding of the importance of information and records management.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and support strong, professional relationships at all levels within an organisation.

**Required skills, knowledge, experience and/or qualifications**
- Hold relevant qualification/certification or significant experience in Records and Information Management.
- Have significant experience in administering and managing information and records using an Electronic Document Records Management System (EDRMS), preferably Content Manager 10.1.
- Have some SharePoint Administration experience and/or the ability to integrate with business systems.
- Experience assessing IT business systems for their potential to be “manage-in-place” records systems.
- Experience with information holdings, document classification and information structures.
