We currently have an exciting as a Procurement Manager within our Maritime Australiabased in Osborne SA. This role provides the flexibility of a hybrid working arrangement and a 9 day fortnight full-time working option.

**Your new role**:
Reporting to the Senior Manager - Supply Chain, ASC Shipbuilding, you will be the primary point of contact between a business and it suppliers and will be responsible in overseeing the strategy, delivery and monitoring of the Raw Materials and Consumables program scope. This includes managing and monitoring supplier performance against the contractual arrangement to deliver cost, schedule, quality and safety requirement of the business whilst ensuring to maximize value and minimize risk. Strong engagement skill and diplomacy is required to ensure that the stakeholders work towards the overall procurement strategy.

More specifically, you will have
- Manage the procurement and delivery of product to support the business contract requirements and lead supplier evaluation process and support sourcing recommendations on behalf of the business
- Manage the procurement elements of bids and tenders ensuring robust definition of requirements and commercial terms and oversee cost, schedule and quality adherence through all aspects of procurement
- Facilitate and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers, engaging with key stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach
- Raise awareness of, and support the implementation of, leading procurement practices both within the team and across the business/project
- Lead, manage and develop team members to deliver the required capability to meet the needs of the business and support the development of robust supplier sourcing strategies for the business
- Lead supplier negotiations, finalise supplier agreements and purchase orders and adhere to contractual obligations through effective commercial management including payments, claims, warranties, cash flow and flow down of contract amendments
- Identify and manage supplier risks and opportunities and proactively engage with key suppliers to enhance capability and efficiency

About you

**As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:

- Demonstrated relevant experience in strategic procurement and within an engineering or defence organisation. Experience in raw materials and consumables is advantageous.
- Strong leadership skill with proven management experience especially in delivering schedule, pricing, estimates and contract adherence and negotiation
- Strong engagement and influencing skill with an ability to provide leadership and direction to the team
- Sound commercial acumen with some exposure to contract management or negotiation and some flexibility to attend out of hours meeting base on European interfaces
- Lateral thinker and strong communicator with above average analytical and numerical attributes

Whilst not essential, degree qualification in procurement/supply chain or commercial discipline, with professional procurement qualification or a membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) is desirable
