- Port Melbourne location
- Ongoing shifts available on Monday's, Thursday's and Friday's 3-7pm. (Don't need to be available for all)
- Must have a car - required to take client out shopping

Requires prompting/guidance with:

- Meal Prep and cooking
- Cleaning
- Personal care
- Following physiotherapy exercises
- Shopping

**About the Role**
Supporting Abilities for Everyone (S.A.F.E.) is seeking passionate Disability Support Workers to join the team, located throughout Melbourne. We are looking for competent, enthusiastic and reliable Support Workers who possess the right empathy, interpersonal skills and ethics to prioritise the care of our clients. We currently have casual opportunities available for all successful applicants.

Support Workers are directly responsible for the day to day support, personal care and personal development of our clients. Shifts are dependent on client needs, varying in length, location and requirements. You will be matched with clients based on your availability, experiences and client preferences. Client requirements may include:

- Personal care - assistance with mobility, personal hygiene, toileting, eating and drinking, etc.
- High-intensity care - behavioural difficulties, PEG feeding, bowel care, wound care, etc.
- Medication administration, supervision and/or management.
- Social, recreational, community access - shopping, running errands, social activities, fitness, etc.
- Transportation - to and from appointments, work, social events/activities.
- Home care - general domestic tasks, maintenance, gardening, etc.
- Employment assistance

Support Workers provide a range of community living services to assist people with a disability to be actively involved in their local community, be valued, respected and engaged in meaningful opportunities and relationships.

**About You**
Qualities we’re looking for to be successful in this role:

- Have a passion for assisting and working with people from all walks of life/with a range of disabilities and comfortable providing high-quality support with respect and dignity.
- Be flexible to work within a service that provides 24/7 care, including weekends, sleepover and/or active night shifts, urgent/cover shifts (with respect to the availability of our employees).
- Be reliable and have a good work ethic.
- Have a friendly and professional attitude.
- Be empathetic, calm, patient and compassionate by nature.
- Be able to build a rapport easily with clients and co-workers.
- Maintain professional boundaries.
- Be willing to learn new skills, undertake ongoing training and be part of a team.
- Have the ability to be flexible, strong, quick-thinking and adaptable when responding to challenging or unexpected situations that may arise.
- Maintain communication with the business manager(s) (including shift notes and incident reports) as required and be receptive to feedback.
- Complete relevant NDIS Worker modules as required.
- Comply with the NDIS Code of Conduct and S.A.F.E. Employment Agreement.
- Studying or completed Certificate III or higher in Disability or equivalent health field *Desired, but not required.

**Essential Selection Criteria (or willingness to obtain)**:

- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Current National Police Check (no more than 6 months old).
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee status/if working with participants
