About the role
This Identified leadership role is an integral part of Cater Care’s People & Culture team and is responsible for advocating and driving meaningful change for First Nations people across our business and in the communities in which we work. In partnership with our established Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Working Group, this role is responsible for supporting the implementation of Cater Care’s RAP organisation-wide, with a particular focus on recruitment, development and retention of First Nations team members. The role will report directly to the Director - People & Culture and can be based out of Sydney or Brisbane.

Support the implementation of Cater Care’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and help embed a commitment to reconciliation across our organisation.
Provide strategic advice and support on effective, culturally sensitive recruitment, sourcing and training strategies to enhance First Nations team member attraction and retention.
Develop links with Government and non-Government Agencies, stakeholders and First Nations community networks to promote and support employment opportunities and career pathways at Cater Care.
Lead the development of an organisation-wide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander team member network.
Provide knowledge and expertise in the development and implementation of Cultural Awareness education across our business.
Build and sustain relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, networks and suppliers.
Participate as a key member of Cater Care’s RAP Working Group
Monitor, evaluate and report on key First Nations deliverables.
**Skills and Experiences**:
About you
Through your strong connections to the community, you are deeply committed to amplifying First Nations voices and fostering cultural self-determination.
You have a background in cultural engagement, strategy and leadership with the ability to guide and influence organisations to build cultural competency and to create programs that honour and uplift First Nations perspectives.
You have a track record in implementing and supporting organisation-wide workforce development programs that embed key goals, priorities and initiatives.
You are a skilled communicator with the leadership capability to motivate, inspire and build capacity in others.
Key Requirements
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in providing high-level advice and briefings to Senior Leaders.
A solid and broad network of trusted relationships with First Nations Elders, communities and organisations.
Proven ability to manage relationships effectively, influence stakeholders and foster collaboration across internal and external networks.
A firm understanding of best practice Reconciliation Action Plan and First Nations strategy governance frameworks and policies, as well as experience in the design and implementation of such frameworks and policies.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
