**Let’s talk about the roles and responsibilities**
We are seeking a skilled and experienced **Data Modeler**to design and implement cutting-edge data models for sustainability reporting solutions on the **Google Cloud Platform (GCP)**. This role focuses on building robust data consumption layers, with a specialized emphasis on handling **spatial data**to enable impactful analytics and insightful reporting.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Data Modeling**: Design, implement, and maintain data models in the consumption layer of BigQuery to support sustainability reporting and analytics.
- **Spatial Data Handling**: Manage and work with geospatial data to enable location-based analysis and visualizations.
- **Collaboration**: Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver optimized data models.
- **Data Optimization**: Ensure models are performance-driven, cost-efficient, and aligned with industry best practices for sustainability reporting.
- **Documentation**: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, including metadata and lineage.
**Qualifications**:
- Strong expertise in **data modeling**and designing **consumption layers**on BigQuery.
- Hands-on experience with **spatial/geospatial data**and tools like PostGIS or BigQuery GIS.
- Proficiency in **SQL**and a solid understanding of **data engineering concepts**.
- Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and reporting metrics is a plus.
- Excellent **problem-solving**and **communication**skills.
- Minimum **5 years of relevant experience**in data modeling and analytics.
