**About the role**:
The vision of the Transactional Direct team is that every NAB customer is a full transactional customer. A full Transactional customer has a higher Net Promoter Score, increased ROE and sees NAB as their bank of choice.

As a Merchant Retention Specialist, you will work in partnership with Specialised Business Bankers and Relationship Bankers. Your primary purpose is to attract and retain customers by identifying a customer’s need for our transactional banking solutions and fulfilling those needs. Your secondary purpose is to identify customers’ needs outside of our transactional banking solutions and refer to the right team across the organisation to service their needs.

**Typically, your days will include**:

- Identifying and addressing the transactional banking needs of existing and new customers
- Effectively managing an active sales funnel, including correctly mapping opportunities and call reports to customer profiles, taking next step actions, and reflecting correct status in the sales cycle
- Supporting our customers shift towards digital adoption, improving cash management practices and helping connect them across the organisation through referrals to support their ongoing and future needs
- Proactively managing risk; meeting all policy and compliance requirements; performing controls; adhering to process and procedures pertinent to role; and escalating events, issues or breaches as they are identified
- Meeting performance goals

**About you**:

- A sound understanding of transaction products and services
- Comprehensive knowledge of business / commercial practices
- You need ambition, and you need to be an enthusiastic self-starter
- Outstanding interpersonal skills coupled with previous exposure to stakeholder management
- Ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities and competing stakeholder expectations
- A degree in Business or Finance will be viewed highly
- Solutions-based experience is advantageous
