**This opportunity**

As the **Quality Assistance Manage**r, this role is focused on optimising the customer experience and delivery of value. This is to ensure that the customer journeys are always available & perform well (Operations); the software is intuitive & easy to use (UX); the code is maintainable & simple to change (Developers). The Quality Assistance Manager role is to focus on improving the team's quality, efficiency, and independence, and continue to improve the quality of the inputs to the team as well as uplift our AWS based software platform quality.

**Responsibilities**
- Hold a customer centric mindset to understand how systems are used and have a curious and determined approach to ‘break’ systems to identify problems or bugs.
- Influence and lead the whole team to take responsibility for quality; you are not there to be a safety net or gatekeeper.
- Define the quality bar and ensure that developers have the right tools, right data, and environments.
- Provide accurate and valuable input for the development of individual features and stories based on testing experience and skills.
- Train and develop others in specific testing skills, and embrace a QA mindset
- Inspire and lead testing as a valuable, challenging, and fun activity.
- Responsible for the planning and road map of introducing and maintaining quality attitudes in the engineering team.
- Identify when testing activities become tedious, repetitive, or low-value and then lead the team to improve through experimenting.
- Continually create and identify opportunities to improve the team’s quality, efficiency, and independence
- Use a pragmatic approach to identify bugs and determine what ones are low risk and will be suitable to progress with.

**Knowledge and experience**
- Software or systems engineering background
- Agile and DevOps experience
- Full SDLC experience
- Good communication skills
- Emotional intelligence
- A love of teamwork****:

- Safety systems engineering desirable
- Defined engineering processes desirable
- Experience in the Digital domain desirable
- Software architecture desirable
