You will be responsible for the management of the Event Planning team and execution of client events including working with our operational teams on the delivery, and post event requirements. This role reports to and assists the Director of Sales to maximise performance of the team and drive profitability. You will also be an ambassador of the Sofitel brand and Magnifique Meetings all while being supported and developed by a team of industry leading professionals who will provide structure and training to ensure your success.

You will be well connected, create meaningful connections with clients and business partners, and confidently share your _je ne sais quoi_ with the world.

What you will be doing:

- Lead a team to perform the end-to-end coordination of the hotel's meetings and events
- Assist the Director of Sales to maximise revenue for meeting and events profitability, and to drive new improvements
- Work closely with the Director of Sales, Director of Revenue and Sales team to achieve revenue targets
- Be ultimately responsible for the management of events from handover from Sales to execution
- Represent a luxury product and communicate and liaise at all levels, ensuring guest expectations are exceeded
- Instill guest focused and performance driven culture among the Meeting and Events team
- Be the face of Sofitel Brisbane Central, representing a five-star luxury brand.

**Qualifications**:
Your experience and skills include:

- Minimum five years’ experience in event management in a hotel environement
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Sales or Event Management (desirable)
- Experience in leading others and developing a high performing team
- Highly motivated and driven to succeed
- Excellent collaboration skills and an ability to work independently and unsupervised
- Guest focused and committed to providing exceptional service at all times
- Highly responsible and reliable, achieving tasks efficiently, accurately and promptly
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Outstanding personal presentation and style, aligned with the Sofitel luxury brand.
