**The Role**
The Directorate of Performance is responsible for the oversight and support of activities for digital projects that are being initiated or are in-flight, with the aim of improving the effectiveness of Defence Digital project outcomes. We are implementing new methods of project delivery and providing the support to project teams as they transition to project management best practice. In this EL1 role you will have an opportunity to perform the following duties:

- Develop and implement a project management model supported by ServiceNow;
- Analyse project performance by developing and using indicators and artefacts;
- Interrogate and evaluate data to perform systematic analysis to identify and resolve project problems;
- Develop project management frameworks and templates to ensure best practice and alignment of projects with Defence policy;
- Establish appropriate project delivery models (such as SAFE, hybrid, waterfall) and ensure availability of appropriate training to support project teams; and
- Establish and maintain communities of practice to share and garner lessons learned, with a view to improving project delivery skills across the department.

**About our Team**
Portfolio Management Branch (PMB) sits within Group Operations Division in Defence Digital Group and has recently been established to strengthen performance across the Group by improving support for data led decision-making. PMB is responsible for prioritising and optimising resources, providing support and assurance to projects and programs, maintaining an integrated master schedule and working to build a culture of trust, transparency and continuous improvement in program and project delivery across the enterprise.
- A high level of organisational skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and negotiate with influence;
- The ability to analyse and interpret data from multiple sources in order to make recommendations;
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to provide quality products;
- An innovative approach to work that applies holistic thinking and continuous improvement of our processes;
- An ability to support the Director and other teams within the Portfolio Management Branch, both in a range of forums and attendance at meetings;
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve, create solutions, influence, negotiate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels;
- The ability to work collaboratively in an integrated team environment and to support the PMB objectives; and
- A high degree of self-motivation and a positive attitude to change.
