**The Opportunity**
The Strategic Asset Planner is responsible for providing expert advice and support in the development and implementation of asset management strategies that align with the Department's goals and international standards. The role focuses on improving asset management practices, enhancing service performance, and ensuring that the Department’s assets are efficiently managed. You will work with key stakeholders to create and implement solutions, review existing processes, and identify opportunities for innovation. The position also involves managing risks, preparing reports, and supporting the use of asset management software to guide investment strategies.

- Analysing data to identify opportunities, solve problems, and make evidence-based decisions.
- Communicating effectively, whether writing reports, preparing presentations, or addressing senior stakeholders.
- Keeping up to date with asset management trends, risks, and innovations to improve processes.

**Qualifications/Experience**
For appointment to the role at the PO3 classification level, a degree in Engineering providing eligibility for membership as a Professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers, Australia is required, or a Tertiary qualification in Planning.
For appointment to the role at the ASO6 classification level, tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Planning, Engineering, Commerce, Business, or Policy is highly desirable.
**Special Conditions**
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
**Remuneration**
PO3 - $101,285 to $107,078 pa + superannuation.
ASO6 - $98,478 to $104,165 pa + superannuation.
