The People Branch provides operational, tactical, and strategic human resources support to the business to create a safe, resilient and just DCJ where people can realise their potential.

**Your role**

As a HR Advisor Aboriginal Employment within our Aboriginal Employment Strategy team, you will play an integral role in the Aboriginal Employment Strategy (AES) team, as it establishes department-wide development, coordination and implementation of Aboriginal employment policies, strategies and programs. This role will contribute to workforce strategy development, supporting networks, department-wide initiatives, education, and workforce strategies specifically focusing on Aboriginal employment.

**What we’re looking for**

**Note**: In accordance with Clause 26 of the NSW Government Sector Employment (General) Rules 2014 and in accordance with Sections 14 and 21 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 the Department of Communities and Justice considers that being of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent is a genuine occupational qualification for this role.

This is an **Identified role**, because its primary purpose is to provide services for the benefit of DCJ’s

Aboriginal workforce.
- Confirmation of Aboriginality form
- Written confirmation from 2-3 Aboriginal organisations within the community in which you live/work, which addresses the three criteria listed below:

- is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, and
- identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and
- is accepted as a such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.
- The ability to work with mínimal supervision, prioritise workload, eye for detail and meet deadlines.

It is an essential requirement of the role that successful applicants are fully vaccinated and able to provide acceptable proof of vaccination status.

**About you**
- High level communication skills including written and verbal communication and stakeholder relationships
- High level Project management, with the use of technology to support
- Demonstrate on providing a positive stakeholder experience and support to employment interventions such as Pre-Employment programs and participant liaison
- Ability to complete own work tasks under guidance within set targets, timeframes, and standards.
- Demonstrated experience implementing Aboriginal employment focused initiatives - traineeships, school-based traineeships, mentoring programs, career forums
- Demonstrate an understanding of methodologies and supporting technologies related to project management
