**The Role**
The Health Policy Officer will work to the SO1 Health Policy. They will be accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve development of health policy and projects, monitoring and, quality assurance work for the delivery of health policies within an integrated workforce. This may include but is not limited to; the requirement to plan, manage and execute multiple policy projects engaging a variety of internal and external stakeholders. They will require an in-depth knowledge of, and compliance with, legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy development requirements.
**About our Team**
The Defence Health Policy team is a highly motivated integrated workforce responsible for driving agile health policy development to meet Defence's needs whilst taking into account the strategic environment and health drivers. The core team coordinates and manages all policy development and changes with a requirement to engage with our numerous external stakeholders.
The Health Policy team is seeking someone who has excellent communication skills (written & verbal) and are able to exercise a considerable degree of independence, is proactive, an excellent project manager and is able to meet due dates/times. You will exercise sound decision making and judgement to enable efficient and effective health policy development. You have a demonstrated ability to work with a range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, both internal and external to Defence, and to adapt your communication style to a range of audiences.
You are capable of building team capability and promoting accountability through cooperation, collaboration, coaching and feedback; whilst reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by within the work unit.
You are adept at actively managing key stakeholder relationships and are able to identify relevant stakeholders’ expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes.
You are highly organised, have attention to detail and are able to concurrently manage multiple policy development activities and/or policy projects, and perform secretarial functions (organise meeting, invite stakeholders, record meetings, write minutes, mange open action lists etc.) within a robust governance framework.
