The successful applicants can work out of our offices located in either Brisbane, Belconnen (Canberra) or Docklands (Melbourne), although flexible working arrangements (including a hybrid model of working from home and the office) apply.

**About the business area and the roles**

Our role is to bring out the best in every employee by fostering an inclusive work environment and by ensuring everyone is equipped with the right skills and knowledge to achieve their best and meet their responsibilities. We support the ABS (individuals, teams and managers) with people related matters.

The People Management and Wellbeing (PMaW) section is comprised of approximately 20 HR and WHS professionals operating across geographically dispersed teams, with responsibility for rehabilitation case management, performance and conduct, and work health and safety.

We provide advice on complex HR matters and deliver solutions-based case management while providing managers supportive and discreet coaching. PMaW also manage the ABS’s Work Health and Safety Management System (WHSMS) and deliver work programs to enable the prevention, identification, and mitigation of WHS risk.

We are seeking to fill positions within the four teams:

- **Front of House** (triage, engagement and early intervention)
- **Health** (rehabilitation case management)
- **National Work Health and Safety** (WHSMS, policy development and review)
- **People Management **(probation, underperformance, misconduct, dispute resolution).

**What we are looking for (selection criteria)**
- Strong written and verbal communication: ability to communicate with influence and document technical advice and sensitive information appropriately.
- Time management: sees work through to completion, with an ability to work with flexibility and commitment through competing priorities whilst maintaining timely records.
- Collaborative approach: values teamwork, aligns to the ABS goals and vision, and is solutions-focused. Seeks to understand the perspectives, restraints and goals of others and provides a high level of customer service.

APS 6 applicants must also demonstrate:

- ability to write official correspondence and technical advice to a high quality and defensible standard
- leadership and the ability to develop capability and knowledge in others.

Desirable but not essential is someone who has formal qualifications in:
