**Position Overview**
The Disability Support Worker Team Leader will play a pivotal role in coordinating and managing the day-to-day operations of our support services. This role requires leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a hands-on approach to ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality care. The Team Leader will oversee scheduling, staff management, onboarding processes, and participant engagement, while also providing direct support to participants when required.
**Key Responsibilities**
Staff and Team Management
Supervise, guide, and manage a team of disability support workers.
Ensure team members provide person-centered, high-quality support services.
Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, address concerns, and celebrate achievements.
Monitor staff performance and provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
Collaborate with the HR team to support onboarding and training processes for new staff members.
Scheduling and Rostering
Develop and maintain staff rosters that align with participant needs and preferences.
Ensure rosters are efficient, equitable, and compliant with relevant workplace regulations.
Respond promptly to changes in schedules, such as leave requests or participant needs.
Monitor roster adherence and resolve conflicts or challenges as they arise.
Participant Engagement and Community Access
Attend participant "meet and greet" sessions to ensure a smooth introduction to our services.
Support participants to engage in community activities and access community resources when required.
Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with participants, families, and stakeholders.
Ensure participant care plans are followed and goals are actively supported.
**Administrative Duties**
Maintain accurate records of staff schedules, participant notes, and incident reports.
Assist with reporting requirements and ensure compliance with NDIS standards.
Work closely with management to address operational challenges and improve service delivery.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and quality assurance processes.
**Key Selection Criteria**
Demonstrated experience in disability support or community care, with leadership experience preferred.
Strong organizational skills, particularly in scheduling and rostering.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team management skills.
Ability to foster a positive, collaborative team culture.
Commitment to person-centered care and empowerment of participants.
Proficiency in administrative tasks, including record-keeping and compliance.
A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
Relevant qualifications in Disability, Community Services, or a related field (Certificate IV or higher preferred).
