About the role

YH Support is seeking a Female Disability Support Worker (Experience with Children - Mandatory) to join our team in Strathpine, QLD and surrounding areas. This is a casual position responsible for delivering exceptional, compassionate care to a young client with complex support needs. An interest in music, singing, dancing, reading, swimming, and bike riding will be essential to effectively engage the client.

Shifts that require assistance are as follows:

Wednesday - 10am to 1pm

Friday - 2pm to 4pm

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting clients with personal care, such as showering, dressing, and grooming
  • Helping clients with household tasks, including meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry
  • Accompanying and supporting clients in the community, such as during social outings or appointments
  • Providing emotional support and engaging clients in meaningful activities
  • Documenting client progress and communicating with the broader care team
  • Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety protocols

What we're looking for

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability or Aged Care, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience in providing person-centred support to individuals with disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others
  • Reliable, flexible, and able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays
  • A current driver's license and access to reliable transport
