About you
As our Manager Rural Pathways and Rural Generalist Training, you’ll have demonstrated ability to implement innovative strategies and contemporary models of rural GP training aiming to improve rural workforce quality, sustainability, and access to care for rural and remote communities. You will be a primary point of contact for stakeholders and teams on rural and rural generalist training matters within Victoria. To thrive in this role you’ll have:
experience in rural stakeholder engagement, project management and change management
extensive knowledge of the rural health sector or ability to rapidly acquire extensive knowledge in an industry sector
experience in developing positive and enduring relationships with internal and external stakeholders - collaborating and consulting effectively to deliver optimal outcomes for rural program participants
About the opportunity
Reporting to Head of RACGP Rural, you’ll be responsible for Rural and the Rural Generalist training Programs as outlined in the RACGP’s Operational Plan and the delivery of the Australian General Practice Training program into regional and rural communities in Victoria. The role requires a leader with a passion for improved rural health outcomes, and the energy and drive to engage widely with external stakeholders on complex rural health related topics, issues and opportunities. In addition you’ll:
integrate a rural imperative across the region that influences strong organisational culture
build a continuous improvement and quality mindset across all rural training initiatives
work closely with the Victorian rural operations team, rural Medical Educators and other roles contributing to effective delivery of rural and rural generalist training
Work collaboratively with State and Rural Faculties in the achievement of rural and rural generalist training objectives
develop people for current and future roles and foster a culture of personal guidance and career mentoring for all current and future rural registrars
seek out tailored opportunities to achieve rural registrars’ career goals
case manage complex rural program participant relationships and issues
provide accurate and timely program and policy advice to rural and rural generalist program participants when rural team members require further support
