**About the role**

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented **Technical Officer (TGO2)** to join the National Referral Laboratory team. In this important role, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality research and diagnostic services, with a particular focus on the analysis of inborn errors of metabolism. Your work will involve handling and processing clinical samples, performing complex biochemical assays, and supporting both research and clinical trial activities within a highly specialised laboratory environment.

**About You**

You’re a technically skilled and motivated laboratory professional with a strong interest in diagnostic science and animal models of disease. To succeed in this role, you will have:

- A **Diploma or Advanced Diploma** in a recognised scientific discipline or equivalent, with proven experience working in a laboratory setting
- **Hands-on experience with laboratory mice**, along with demonstrated ability in pipetting, dilutions, and the use of analytical laboratory equipment
- Strong **problem-solving and organisational skills**, with the ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent **communication and interpersonal skills**, with a commitment to customer service, quality standards, and Work Health and Safety practices
