**About the Opportunity**

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the **Paediatric Medicine **team as a** Renal Laboratory Technician, **where you will be responsible for:

- Performing all tests associated with the Renal Laboratory, including 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, 30-minute blood pressure studies, and 7-day home blood pressure monitoring.
- Prioritizing and organizing test bookings efficiently.
- Conducting and reporting on urine spun microscopy.
- Preparing collection equipment and educating patients/families on 24-hour urine collections, including recording urine dipstick results.
- Contributing to maintaining high standards in both technical and administrative aspects of clinical and research functions within the Renal Laboratory.
- Overseeing the Renal Laboratory's quality assurance programs and ensuring timely communication of routine diagnostic results to medical personnel.
- Fostering a collaborative team environment where communication, initiative, and proactive qualities are essential.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to:

- A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a relevant technical discipline
- Experience in a medical technical laboratory.
- Experience working with children.
- Experience and participation in Quality Assurance Programs.
- Ability to interact with patients and their families (for parts of the role).
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure and work independently at times.
