**About the role**
- We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Officer to join our high performing team. The Technical Officer will perform specialist analytical assays on samples presented to the Trace Element area.
- As the Technical Officer, you will become part of a passionate, vibrant and engaged team that is responsible for:

- Process specimens from receipt to results
- Record results following documented protocols
- Validate results as required
- Answer enquiries from external and internal sources
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Equipment calibration
- Participate in rotating rosters as required
- Collaborate with Laboratory Manager and the Chief Scientists from Core Laboratory to identify areas for improvement and implement workflow enhancements for continuous laboratory improvement.

**About you**
- To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:

- Diploma of Health Science (Pathology Techniques) or equivalent
- Previous experience in a lab is desired but not essential
- A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures.
- Self-initiative and problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in all tasks
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- This role may require additional vaccination history and evidence for department specific vaccine preventative diseases.
